MANILA, Philippines—F2 Logistics has also made big midseason moves as it signed UAAP Season 85 Finals MVP and Best Setter Mars Alba from La Salle and Best Opposite Spiker Jovelyn Fernandez of Far Eastern University ahead of the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference in June.

The Cargo Movers on Sunday unveiled their new recruits with Alba taking her act to the same system and tradition that her La Salle coach Ramil De Jesus built.

Fresh from ending the Lady Spikers’ five-year championship drought with a Finals series sweep of the National University Lady Bulldogs, the graduating playmaker will beef up F2 Logistics’ roster, joining hands with setters Kim Fajardo and Iris Tolenada.

Alba played four seasons for La Salle and saved the best for last in her final year as she was second in setting with 4.48 excellent sets per frame and led the service department with 0.50 aces per set to emerge as the Best Setter before becoming the Finals MVP.

Fernandez had a stellar sophomore year with FEU as she led the team from a 1-13 finish in Season 84 to fifth place with a 6-8 record this season.

The opposite spiker earned the individual award after tallying a total of 168 points built on 133 attacks, 20 blocks, and 15 aces. She was fourth in service with an average of 0.29 per set and seventh in spiking with a 31.89 percent efficiency.

Fernandez, who decided to turn pro after two UAAP seasons, is joining the system of coach Regine Diego built by Ramil De Jesus and his coaching staff.

F2 Logistics solidified its wing spiker rotation as the PVL rookie joins Kianna Dy, Ara Galang, and Myla Pablo.

The Cargo Movers have one more new recruit to unveil as they seek to rise from their best PVL finish in the previous All-Filipino Conference, where they earned the bronze.

F2 Logistics joined Chery Tiggo’s recruiting spree as the latter signed Eya Laure and four other UAAP standouts. Akari also tapped Ateneo star Faith Nisperos.
