Filoil Preseason: Shawn Argente repays JRU’s trust with stellar showing
MANILA, Philippines—Despite being the new kid on the block, Jose Rizal University’s Shawn Argente already feels right at home.
Argente repaid his new squad’s trust in him with an explosive 12-point outing that helped the Heavy Bombers torment their memorable rival College of St. Benilde, 81-68, in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup at San Juan Arena on Sunday.

“We are all confident with his skills. We’re all confident with how he’s playing. He’s new, he’s young, along the way he will learn a lot,” said Callueng.
“He will have lots of mistakes and from those mistakes, I hope he learns with our guidance,” he added.
Before heading to JRU, Argente was a consistent trainee under the Letran Squires program.
Currently, Argente is posting averages of 13.2 markers per outing in the preseason.
