Kevin Ferrer will be sidelined for the next 10 to 12 months after suffering an Achilles injury in Terrafirma’s win over TNT in the PBA On Tour.

Coach Johnedel Cardel on Thursday confirmed the timetable for Ferrer, who got hurt late in the second half of the Dyip’s 104-92 win the previous night at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Ferrer had to be wheeled out of the venue on a stretcher following the injury which was curiously non-contact since the six-year forward was only positioning for a possible rebound without any opponent.

He has appeared in two of the Dyip’s three games in the exhibition series, averaging 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds.

It will be the longest recovery period for Ferrer, who dealt with short-term injuries in previous PBA seasons.

Ferrer was forced to miss the remainder of the 2019 Governors’ Cup playoffs after a heavy object landed on his foot.

The former University of Santo Tomas star also missed five games in last season’s Governors’ Cup, his first conference with Terrafirma since being traded from NorthPort, due to a shoulder problem.

His injury dampened the Dyip’s first win in the On Tour after losses to the Converge FiberXers and Blackwater Bossing.

Isaac Go, who had just recovered after being out for almost a year with an ACL injury, led Terrafirma’s comeback triumph.
