PBA On Tour: NLEX blows out Phoenix behind Sean Anthony, Ben Adamos
NLEX got a triple-double from Sean Anthony and a strong showing from Ben Adamos in blowing past Phoenix, 112-95, for its first victory in the PBA On Tour on Friday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Anthony had 22 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists while Adamos topscored with 27 as the Road Warriors barged into the win column after dropping their first three assignments in the exhibition series.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Road Warriors dominated for most of the way and led by a high of 35 points to hand the Fuel Masters their second straight defeat.
“We did well on defense, made some shots and we had a lot of assists in the first half,” said NLEX coach Frankie Lim.
Anthony played after being rested in the past two games while Adamos hauled down 10 rebounds in his second game since NLEX acquired Lim’s former University of Perpetual Help center from incidentally Phoenix.
Article continues after this advertisementDominic Fajardo had 17 points while Don Trollano added 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals for the Road Warriors.
Larry Muyang’s 21 points and 12 rebounds couldn’t salvage a miserable evening for the Fuel Masters.
J-Jay Alejandro put up 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in Phoenix’s setback.
