PBA On Tour: Undefeated Magnolia holds off Ginebra

MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia doubled down on defense late to beat Barangay Ginebra, 91-80, in the PBA On Tour on Sunday at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.

With the game tied at 74, the Hotshots finished the game on a 17-6 run with 5:50 remaining to clinch their fourth win in as many outings.

Mark Barroca had 20 points, five assists and three steals while Jerrick Ahanmisi came off the bench and added 17 points built on five 3-pointers for Magnolia.

Paul Lee only scored seven points but he hit the game-sealing triple for an 89-80 cushion with exactly two minutes left.

The Hotshots led by as many as 12 and were up by nine heading into the final frame before the Gin Kings knotted the count at 74 on a basket by Kim Aurin.

Raymond Aguilar paced Ginebra with a game-high 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field while Aurin had 12. Nards Pinto and Von Pessumal chipped in 11 apiece for the Gin Kings, who dropped to 0-2 in the preseason.
