NBA: Lakers’ Austin Reaves signs seven-figure shoe deal with Chinese brand

MANILA, Philippines—At only 25 years old, Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers is one of the uprising stars in the NBA today.

So it is only fitting that Reaves would sign with an uprising brand for a seven-figure sneaker deal.

On Thursday (Manila time), Reaves confirmed in an interview with Shams Charania that he signed a shoe deal with Chinese brand Rigorer and will have a signature shoe to his name released soon.

“If you had told me that I’ll have a signature (shoe) at 18, I’d call you a liar. There’s probably like 20-something people who have a shoe in the NBA,” he said.

“[I’m] blessed to play basketball for a living and I have to pinch myself sometimes to really understand what’s going on.”

The Rigorer A1 pays homage to Reaves’ star-making season with the Lakers with the first colorway coming out as Purple and Gold.

The shoe also sports a breathable upper and a simple midsole to outsole connection.

Reaves is expected to be the banner boy for Rigorer heading forward as the most notable athlete to be in its brand since its conception in 2014.
