ANTONIO Lascuña rallied with a 9-under-par 63 Friday to advance into a tie for second place in the inaugural Taman Dayu Championship of the Asian Development Tour which Sujjan Singh of India has turned into a one-man show.
The recent winner of the ICTSI-Philippine Golf Tour’s Manila Southwoods leg, who had earlier rounds of 72-69, totaled 204 in a tie with Australian Anthony Choat, who also fired a 63 at the Taman Dayu Golf Club and Resort course.
But Lascuña and Choat still trailed Singh by a massive 10 strokes as the red-hot Indian shot a 67 to go with a 64 and a 63 for a 54-hole total of 194.
Jay Bayron also moved into contention for a big payday in the $70,000 Asian Development Tour event by joining a four-way deadlock for fourth at 206 after firing a 65.
Mars Pucay stood at 210 after a 68 while Michal Bibat and Charles Hong wound up at 212 after carding a 73 and 71, respectively.
Meanwhile, Juvic Pagunsan missed the halfway cut of the Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup of the Japan Golf Tour with rounds of 74-77. Korean Lee Kyoung-soon and Japanese Yasuhara Imano were tied for the lead at 134. Asian Tour News
