MANILA, Philippines—The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas revealed the eight collegiate teams that will take part in the “simulation” games for the Fiba World Cup tournament on Thursday.
In preparation for the hosting of the international tilt, the SBP will field four invitational games at Mall of Asia Arena and Araneta Coliseum next week to rehearse the flow of the Fiba World Cup happening in August.
The marquee matchup will happen at Cubao where UAAP king Ateneo and NCAA champion Letran face off at 4 pm.

The champions’ showdown will be followed by a star-studded affair between Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup holder University of the Philippines and San Beda at 8 pm.
While that happens, Pasay will be home to the showdown between College of St. Benilde and La Salle at 4:45 pm.
The last game of the day, also at MOA Arena, will be headlined by UAAP Season 85 Final Four squad National University and NCAA Season 97 finalist Mapua at 8:30 pm.
The SBP along with Fiba announced the simulation of the World Cup in Manila a few weeks ago during a PSA Forum.
The organization will also see how they would cater to fans with the games being available to the public with ticket prices ranging from 100 to 200 pesos.
