MANILA, Philippines—Gabe Vincent and Max Strus have found themselves new homes during the NBA Free Agency period but not without getting a tribute from Miami star Jimmy Butler.
Butler, who carried the Heat in their improbable run in the 2023 NBA Playoffs, took time to say goodbye to both players as they found new contracts away from Miami.
Butler wrote “peace out” as a caption to both Vincent and Strus while posting photos of them during the playoff run that saw an eighth-seeded squad go all the way to the league’s finalè.
Vincent will be playing alongside Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis after signing a three-year, $33 million contract with this year’s Western Conference finalist.
Strus, meanwhile, inked a four-year, $63 million contract in a sign-and-trade deal from Miami to Cleveland.
Both sharp shooting guards emerged as one of vital players during the 2023 Playoffs when the Heat had to endure the injuries of guards Victor Oladipo and Tyler Herro.
Strus and Vincent helped Butler on the offensive end this season with averages of 11.5 and 9.4 points per game.
