ONE: Team Lakay’s Carlos Alvarez submits Sadegh Ghasemi in Friday Fights 25
MANILA, Philippines—If there was anything that Carlos Alvarez wanted to prove on ONE Friday Fights 25, it’s that he belonged in the professional MMA league.
Alvarez, a Team Lakay standout, scored an impressive second-round submission win over Sadegh Ghasemi on Friday at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The win, Alvarez said, was just another testament to how badly he wants a contract with ONE.
“Of course, I want a contract to be part of the ONE Championship roster and I know I can perform well,” he said.

Ghasemi was unable to match Alvarez’s array of ground strikes and already trailed in the score cards even before tapping out in the next round.
In the main event, Nakrob Fairtex made quick work of Petputhai Or Bor Jor Nakhonpanom in the Flyweight Muay Thai division.
Fairtex knocked out Petputhai in only the 1:28 mark of the first round.
Up next for the Team Lakay stable is Jhanlo Sangiao’s bout against Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian on Saturday night at the same venue.
