PFF Women’s League: Manila Digger make it 4-0

PFF Women's League

MANILA, Philippines—Manila Digger stayed on top of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League following an 8-0 romp of Stallion-Laguna on Sunday at National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite.

Maan Fornea produced a brace while captain Sharel Cruz was one of six players who also scored to give Manila Digger another full three points to make it four wins out of four matches in the league campaign.

The club now has 12 points to remain three ahead of Tuloy FC, which also kept its unblemished mark in the league.

Tuloy dominated University of Santo Tomas, 6-2, the previous day with Isabella Bandoja scoring a hat trick to get its third victory in as many games for nine points.

La Salle salvaged a 2-2 draw against Far Eastern University in the first meeting of both teams since the UAAP Finals.

Angelica Teves’ equalizer five minutes before stoppage time helped La Salle force FEU, which won their title encounter last May, to share the spoils.

The Lady Archers stayed third with seven points while the Lady Tamaraws kept their hold of fourth with four points.

University of the Philippines entered the win column with a 1-0 win over Azzurri SC on Aurea Reaso’s 25th-minute penalty.

UP climbed fifth with four points, trailing FEU on goal difference.
