Alex Eala reaches W100 Vitoria-Gasteiz quarterfinals
MANILA, Philippines—Alex Eala barged into the quarterfinals of W100 Vitoria-Gasteiz International Tennis Federation (ITF) after beating China’s Tianmi Mi in Spain.
The 18-year-old Filipino tennis star outlasted Mi, 6-3, 6-7, 6-0, in the Round of 16 on Thursday.

Mi began the final frame with double break points which looked like the start of Eala’s fall. However, it would be the young Chinese’s final gasp as Eala blanked her until the end of the match, 6-0.
Up next for Eala is Spanish bet Lucia Cortez Llorca on Friday night for a spot in the semifinals.

The winner of the Vitoria-Gasteiz will take home over 100,000 dollars in cash prize.
