NCAA: CSB routs slumping Letran

MANILA, Philippines—College of St. Benilde ran away in the fourth quarter to beat struggling Letran, 77-60, Monday in the NCAA Season 88 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Joel Tolentino led the way in scoring with 17 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists as the Blazers improved to 2-2.

Tolentino hit timely threes to defuse any hopes of Letran launching an end-game comeback.

The Knights missed the services of their big men Jam Cortes and Raymond Almazan.

Cortes served his one-game suspension while Alamzan had a high fever.

With Letran’s interior defense lacking, CSB capitalized.

Jonathan Grey scored twice down low during a 17-4 run that tore the game open.

Letran staggered to its third straight loss after its impressive win over San Sebastian in the opener.

The Blazers trailed by as much as 10, 25-35, in the second quarter.
