The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) announced on Friday Tolenada’s surprise signing with GS Caltex Seoul as she replaces Thailand setter Soraya Phomla as their Asian quota import.

Tolenada joined the Korean V-League’s first-ever Asian quota draft last April but was not picked by any of the seven clubs.

FEATURED STORIES

The 5-foot-9 setter is listed as part of the F2 Logistics’ roster in the PVL Invitational Conference but she did not suit up in any of the Cargo Movers’ games in the tournament, which wraps up Sunday.

Tolenada joins fellow Filipino import MJ Phillips in the Korean V-League. Phillips was the lone player from the country to be picked in the Asian quota draft, joining the Gwangju AI Peppers.
