MANILA, Philippines—The Adamson Lady Falcons were the first team to secure a seat in the Shakey’s Super League Finals and they had a preferred opponent for the showdown.
A few hours later, their wish was granted.

“We need to prepare for the Finals. For me, it’s better to face La Salle so we can see the talent capacity of the kids,” said Yude at San Juan Arena on Friday.
“La Salle is big and they’re also the defending champions of the UAAP.”

La Salle kept its composure and escaped the Golden Tigresses, 22-25, 25-18, 14-25, 26-24, 26-24, in the semifinals
For coach Noel Orcullo, however, preparation is key in facing a familiar rival.
“[We’re facing] UAAP team again so we’ll prepare and study them. By Monday, we will study Adamson,” said Orcullo.
“Adamson also lost a lot like us so they’re also unfamiliar for us because almost all are new players so come Wednesday, they (La Salle) have to know the players’ tendencies so adjustments that can be made should be made right away,” he explained further.
Shevana Laput, who showed up big for the Lady Archers in the victory with 23 points, said they still have to work on a lot en route to their duel with Adamson.
For the young middle blocker, the team will need to improve more in connection if they want to dominate the Lady Falcons anew.
“We really need to improve together as a team and form more connection with each other,” Laput said.
The UAAP juggernauts begin their best-of-three series on Wednesday for the leg’s gold medal while UST and the Lady Altas will also begin their three-game series for the bronze medal.
