MANILA, Philippines—There is no end in plain sight for the Bloodline saga.
Roman Reigns’ historic 1,070-day title reign lived on as he defeated cousin Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in Summerslam at Ford Field, Detroit, on Sunday (Manila time).
But he did not accomplish it alone.
Jey connected with a spear of his own on Reigns followed by an Uso Splash to inch closer to dethroning the “Tribal Chief.” However, before the referee could complete the three-count, a hooded individual pulled him out the ring to stop the count.
The unidentified attacker revealed himself to be Jey’s twin, Jimmy, costing his own brother the match. Jimmy has been listed as “out” since he sustained an injury at the hands of Reigns and Solo Sikoa last month.
When Jey got back to the ring, Reigns speared him through a table which took him out of commission for good.
Sikoa, who has been Reigns’ henchman for the better part of the year, also played a part in the night’s main event when he attacked Jey midway through the match.

Earlier, Logan Paul opened the show with a win over Ricochet via his signature knockout punch enforced with a brass knuckle.
Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar, then, ended their saga on a high note with the former reigning supreme.
Rhodes converted on three straight Cross-Rhodes to put an end to his rivalry with the “Beast Incarnate.” Lesnar shook hands with Rhodes after the match and gave him his much-warranted flowers.
Shayna Baszler made quick work of fellow MMA-fighter-turned-wrestler Ronda Rousey while L.A. Knight won the Summerslam Battle Royale, much to the delight of the Detroit crowd.
Drew McIntyre and Gunther squared off in a thrilling bout for the Intercontinental title with Gunther retaining the strap via clothesline.
Seth Rollins retained his World Heavyweight Championship in his affair with Finn Balor as the Judgment Day’s cracks continued to show.
During the match, Balor’s cohorts Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and Money in the Bank holder Damian Priest interfered which gave Rollins a tough time.
Priest teased a cash-in of his contract only to help Balor but to no avail.
In the co-main event, WWE Women’s Champion Asuka faced off against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a triple threat match.
Belair, who hurt her knee during the bout, won the title via rollup pin to Asuka to win the title.
However, Women’s MITB holder Iyo Sky took advantage of Belair’s injury and cashed in for a shot at the championship.
With Belair down for the count, Sky converted a moonsault off the top rope to notch the victory and the women’s title.
