MANILA, Philippines—When one door closes, another one opens. That may be the same case for NBA players and their beef.
Recently, Golden State star and four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson hopped on the “Podcast P” podcast hosted by Los Angeles Clipper Paul George.
In that interview, Thompson was asked by George regarding his “four rings” taunt to Phoenix player Devin Booker. The sharpshooter immediately explained that he had a moment of weakness with that taunt and regretted doing it.
Booker seemed to have appreciated Thompson’s sentiments as he replied with a salute emoji in the short Instagram clip uploaded by the Podcast P account.
Booker’s thoughts on George posing a question about his beef with Klay, however, sang a different tune.
In a now-deleted comment, Booker asked George, “Is that the answer you were looking for?” which rubbed the former Indiana Pacer the wrong way.
During one of George’s gameplay live streams, the Los Angeles star called Booker’s comment a “sorry a** response.”
“He didn’t really say nothing other than if that’s what I wanted to hear. I don’t really care because that’s Klay’s answer. I asked a question, Klay gave his response,” said the All-star forward.
“I don’t know what that’s [comment] supposed to mean, it was a sorry as** response but I don’t know what it was supposed to mean.”
Booker has yet to respond or explain his comments regarding the podcast episode.
The Clippers and Suns already have a daunting rivalry to begin with. Phoenix was the perpetrator of Los Angeles’ first round elimination in this year’s Playoffs with a 4-1 series win.
