Since the 1970s, basketball has constantly been tinkered with across the globe. Street basketball or what we now call 3X3 first spread throughout small open spaces, street corners in urban centers, and barangays all around the metro. World Balance, the local sports brand, organized a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, with more than 30 teams, locked in a battle for a P100,000 cash prize in a winner-take-all setup.
The brand embraces the sport, to showcase and display talents to undrafted, unknown ballers in this tournament. The 3-on-3 half-court games will be played for 15 minutes or until one team scores 21 points, whichever comes first.
The “World Balance 3×3” tournament will be represented and composed of teams from North, East, West, South in this battle of Street Ball supremacy. The event promises to be exciting as games are faster and easy to play. Having less than five players minimizes any height advantages, equalizing the game. Given the time constraints, there are less chances for injury, and more players will get a chance to strut their stuff.
Hopefully, this will be the start of something big for the brand and spark the interest of Pinoy fans.
World Balance 3×3 streetball league 2023 offers this fresh spin on the country’s most popular sport, giving young local basketball players more space for creativity and faster-paced play, which eliminates size advantage, making for a more exciting basketball.
What does this mean for Philippine basketball and World Balance? This will create a new bridge between the Filipinos and the brand to spark the passion for hoops and introduce their affordable basketball line to the market.
The event will be this Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Ayala Malls, Trinoma
Activity Center. You can also watch the exciting live game finals happening on YouTube @worldbalancephofficial.
