It wasn’t a pretty sight for Bangguigui’s camp as he was nearly dominated for the entirety of the fight. His win streak was halted at eight.
The ONE Warrior Series alum, who made his ONE Championship debut with a win in April over Brazil’s Marcus Paulo Amaral, went crashing to a 9-2 record in the strawweight division.
Zakirov, meanwhile, etched his name in ONE, improving to a professional record of 5-0 in his debut fight for the company.
Bangguigui’s fellow Filipino, Danny Kingad, will have a chance to climb up the flyweight ladder next month when he faces China’s Hu Yong.
