Philippines bows to Indonesia anew in SEA VLeague women’s
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines failed to exact revenge on Indonesia in the Southeast Asian (SEA) VLeague.
In the bronze medal match of the VLeague’s Thailand leg, the Indonesians swatted away the Philippine national women’s volleyball team in four sets, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22, 26-24, on Sunday.

After the Philippines opened strong with first set win, the Indonesians came blazing back with two straight set wins setting up a thrilling fourth frame.
Down by two, 12-14, coach Jorge Souza de Brito’s wards retaliated with a 9-3 run to take a 21-17 lead capped off by an Alyssa Solomon kill.

Wilda Siti Nurfadilah then took matters into her own hands, scoring the last two points to secure the podium finish for the Indonesians, 26-24.
The Philippine women’s team also ended the VLeague two legs with a winless record after six games. Its men’s counterparts encountered the same fate in both legs.
