Lalanto, Ybanez top Century Tuna triathlon
National developmental pool standouts Sixto Lalanto and Mary Claudine Ybanez ruled their respective divisions in the Century Tuna National Age-Group Triathlon race in Cagayan de Oro City recently.
Lalanto completed the 750-meter swim, 20-km bike, and 5-km run event in an hour, three minutes and 48 seconds.
Ybanez needed a strong performance in the final kilometer of the run to overcome a four-minute deficit and eventually pip Annabelle Dominique Torres for the women’s title.
