MANILA, Philippines—Quezon City-Wilcon Depot ruled the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 Quest 3.0 after defeating Pasig-Banh Mi Kitchen, 19-15, at Ayala Malls Solenad in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, on Saturday.
The title win also gives Wilcon Depot a qualification for the Fiba World 3×3 tour Cebu Masters, next month.
“Honestly, we didn’t expect anything. We just wanted to give our best in this kind of competition,” said coach Anton Altamirano.
“We’re really blessed that we had great results here in this tournament.”
Jose Blasquez spearheaded Wilcon with nine points and the 100,000 pesos cash prize.
TH Tumalip helped the cause with seven markers while Yutien Andrada chipped in three.
Louie Vigil scored measly four points for Banh Mi.
Prior to the title-clinching win, Wilcon swept Pool A with a 3-0 record before squeaking past Makati-MNL Kingpin, 22-20, in the semifinals.
