MANILA, Philippines—Puerto Rico arrived in Manila Tuesday afternoon ahead of its Fiba World Cup 2023 campaign at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Former NBA player Tremont Waters and the Puerto Ricans landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 and went straight to their hotel, Grand Hyatt.

Puerto Rico is also composed of George Conditt IV, Aleem Ford, John Holland, Jordan Howard, Christopher Ortiz, Timajh Parker, Isaiah Piñeiro, Justin Reyes, Ismael Romero, Stephen Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Arnaldo Toro, and Phillip Wheeler under coach Nelson Colon.

The Boricuas will open their campaign in Group B against South Sudan on Saturday, 4 p.m., at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Puerto Rico also faces China and Serbia in the first round in its 10th consecutive World Cup appearance.

The Boricuas fell to the powerhouse Team USA and Italy in friendlies before beating the Dominican Republic ahead of their campaign.

Puerto Rico placed 15th in the 2019 World Cup in China after a winless second round.
