MANILA, Philippines—Utah Jazz standout Jordan Clarkson is excited to suit up for Gilas Pilipinas in the Fiba World Cup, which tips off Friday.

But Clarkson isn’t in town to just have some fun–he’s determined to get some wins too with the Philippines too.

“What’s up Jazz fans? I’m here in Manila, excited to play for Team Philippines. We’re goin’ to have a good time, [try to] get some wins. I’ll see y’all soon. Peace,” said Clarkson in the video.

Clarkson will be the center of attention for the Philippine team, which will first face the Dominican Republic led by Clarkson’s fellow NBA player Karl Anthony Towns.

Clarkson, who averaged 20.8 points per game last season,  is one of the three Jazz players in Manila for the World Cup group stage.

Italy has  Simone Fontecchio and the two teammates will clash in the first round, with the Philippines and Italy in the same bracket in Group A.

Gilas Pilipinas and the Italians square off in pool action on August 29 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
