FEU gains lead in PFF Women’s League

Far Eastern University climbed to the top of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League after crushing nine-player Stallion-Laguna coupled by a stalemate between erstwhile leader Manila Digger and Kaya-Iloilo.
The UAAP champion Lady Tamaraws crushed Stallion, 9-0, on Saturday at PFF National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite led by a hat trick from Dionesa Tolentin to move up in the standings following the latest games of the women’s domestic competition.
Manila Digger and Kaya battled to a goalless draw Monday at the same venue, allowing FEU to keep its hold on the lead in the table.
FEU leads despite being level with Digger and Kaya at 16 points apiece due to goal difference.
Tolentin moved to third in the goalscoring tally with 12 following her performance against a Stallion side that had only nine players in uniform.
Stallion, dropping to a fifth loss in as many matches, was also without sisters Olivia and Chandler McDaniel, who already left for the United States after their Women’s League debut against La Salle last week ended in defeat.
Sarahgen Tulabing also scored twice to help FEU easily take the maximum three points.
In other games, Tuloy FC dominated La Salle, 6-2, behind a hat trick from the league’s top scorer Isabella Bandoja.
Bandoja’s three-goal performance put fifth-running Tuloy at 12 points, one behind La Salle which failed to equal FEU, Digger and Kaya on points. Bandoja has hit the net 16 times this season.
University of the Philippines beat University of Santo Tomas, 3-2, in a battle of UAAP sides.
