Hope, San Beda clash

MANILA—Hope Christian High School is favored to repeat over San Beda College when they tangle tomorrow in the Fr. Martin’s Cup finals at the SBC gym.

HCHS, bannered by Errol Villar, Don Mendoza, King Benemerito and Janrey Garrido, and San Beda clash at 9:30 a.m.

Backed by Hapee owner Cecilio K. Pedro, the Stevenson Tiu-mentored cagers beat the Cubs, 103-100, in triple overtime during the recent Freego FCBL championship.

HCHS swept its nine elimination round matches and advanced to the finals by trouncing San Beda B, 92-84, in the semifinals.

The team managed by Bernard Yang and backed by Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, Infinite Grafix and Oceanic Container Lines will next see action in the Tiong Lian league, the premier high school tournament among Filipino-Chinese schools in Metro Manila.
