NBA players Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney arrive in Manila
MANILA, Philippines—As if the amount of NBA players for the Fiba World Cup in Manila wasn’t enough, two more have arrived in the country in the form of Golden State’s Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney.
Thompson and Looney, both NBA champions for the Warriors, landed in the Philippines on Thursday for the Anta Squad Asia Tour at Peninsula Manila hotel.
“It’s our first time in Manila and I can’t wait to see the sights, meet some athletes and just enjoy being here,” said Thompson.
“It’s so cool to be in a place where basketball is their first love.”
After their media availability in the morning, the duo will leave for SM Megamall to watch the brand’s organized 4×4 tournament while also going for a meet and greet in the afternoon.
Also in the country is their Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who willed Team USA to a 3-0 record in Group C of the World Cup, happening at Mall of Asia Arena.
The Golden State duo’s appearance was also in support of the release of the new Anta “KT9”.
