MANILA, Philippines—EJ Obiena snagged his second straight gold medal in four days after ruling the NetAachen Domspringen competition in Germany on Wednesday.

Obiena bested 14 other competitors, breaching the 5.92m height for his second win in Germany since the ISTAF Berlin on Monday.

Obiena outmatched America’s Sam Kendricks (5.87m) and France’s Thibaut Collet (5.82m), who finished with silver and bronze, respectively.

“Good night, Aachen. Thank you,” wrote Obiena in his Instagram story.

The Filipino pole vaulter is making up for his bizarre finish two weeks ago, where he placed last in the Zurich leg of the Wanda Diamond League after his historic silver win in the Worlds.

Obiena will go back at it when the Brussels leg of the Wanda Diamond League goes live. The tourney will be a part of his preparations for the upcoming games in China for the Asian Games.
