Benilde coach expects ‘real test’ against finals opponent FEU

Despite having different motivations, the two teams left vying for the women’s championship in the V-League Collegiate Challenge have the same thing in mind: Striking gold.

Making the finals ahead of everyone else, College of St. Benilde, which ended last year’s edition of the preseason tourney with a bronze, wants to go deeper this time.

Lady Blazers mentor Jerry Yee knows they have better chances of gaining an advantage over finals opponents Far Eastern University (FEU) with a calm approach—like how they were in their semifinal series against University of the East (UE).

“They were relaxed this time [but] the true test will be with FEU, so I expect them (Lady Blazers) to tense up a bit and find it hard to execute. Hopefully, we fix that and then play really well,” Yee, who immediately put his focus on the next challenge ahead, said shortly after ending UE’s bid in two games.

FEU looks to continue reigniting the fire and get much-needed confidence ahead of its chase of a historic 30th championship in the UAAP.
