President congratulates Asian Games pole vault king EJ Obiena

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Sunday congratulated pole vault ace EJ Obiena for winning and bagging the country’s first gold medal in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China Saturday evening.
“Congratulations, EJ, on clinching our first gold in men’s pole vault at the 19th Asian Games!” Marcos tweeted on Sunday.
Article continues after this advertisementObiena led the finals after he cleared 5.75 meters and later cleared 5.90 meters to clinch the gold medal.
Aside from Obiena, Marcos also commended other Filipino athletes for their outstanding performances in the Asian Games.
