MANILA, Philippines–Makati FC won two championships in the 2023 Malaysia Borneo Football Cup in Kota Kinabalu held recently.
Led by Sho Hakamata and RaFa Aprilio, the decorated Philippine youth club ruled the Boys Under 12 tournament for the first time following a 2-1 victory over FC Setia Alam of Malaysia.
In the Boys Under 13, Makati FC also won its first championship at the expense of TABS Malaysia, 3-0.

Alphan Lomibao, Bryant Monsanto and Jomong Ortigas entered the scoresheet for Makati FC, which surpassed 2019 runner-up finish where it lost to Indonesia’s IJL Elite in the U13 Final.
Club President SeLu Lozano was satisfied with the way the Makati FC teams performed this year.
Along with top Asian youth clubs, Makati FC will also be competing in FCB 7’s in Bangkok, Thailand from November 25-26 where it will be fielding five teams: born 2012, 2013, 2014 (2 teams) and 2015.
