UAAP: NU, Adamson notch convincing wins in women’s baskeball
MANILA, Philippines—National University made it two straight in the UAAP Season 86 women’s basketball tournament after defeating La Salle, 91-53, at Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.
The Lady Bulldogs, who was beaten by undefeated University of the Philippines last week, used their early 35-13 lead to go all the way to the finish line and improve to a 4-1 card.
Article continues after this advertisement“[I’m] glad that we did our job today right from the get-go. Part of the good start that we had was these two girls (Camille Clarin and Stefanie Berbarabe) beside me. They did their job early on,” said coach Aris Dimaunahan.
Clarin posted 19 points and six rebounds. Berbarabe only had two markers but came away with seven assists, three rebounds and two steals.
Lee Sario led the Lady Archers with 14 markers, five boards and three assists while foreign student-athlete Aji Bojang notched a double-double of 10 points and 16 rebounds but to no avail.

Adamson, meanwhile, also routed its opponent in University of the East, 71-41.
It was the Lady Falcons’ first win of the season under coach Ryan Monteclaro to notch a 1-4 card.
“Winning is something that gives us relief. My goal is really to make the team better. There were strugglers in getting this first win but hopefully, this is the start of our breakthrough,” said Monteclaro.
Victoria Adeshina’s double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds and four steals to fuel Adamson to the victory. Cris Padilla also notched 11 markers in the win.
Minslie Paule and Kat Ruiz’s 10-marker performances were put to waste as the Lady Warriors remained winless after five games.
