UAAP: Adamson holds off UE for 3-2 record
MANILA, Philippines—Adamson held on to beat University of the East, 72-65, in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament at Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.
The Soaring Falcons blew a 12-point lead after the Red Warriors took the driver’s seat thanks to a 13-0 run to start the third quarter that paved way for a nip-and-tuck final frame.
Article continues after this advertisement“It was a hard win against UE. Actually, going to this game I was thinking that we consider ourselves a minus-five against UE,” said coach Nash Racela, whose squad improved to 3-2.
“I commend our players because they did their part to at least make it hard for UE to have open looks.”
With the score tied at 63, Joem Sabandal gave Adamson the lead on a three-point play with less than five minutes left before Didap Hanapi nailed a midrange jumper to put the game away, 68-63.

Rey Remogat’s 27 points and 11 rebounds weren’t enough to lift the Red Warriors, who dropped to 2-3, while Wello Lingolingo scored 15.
