PBA: Jeron Teng joins San Miguel Beermen
MANILA, Philippines–Jeron Teng signed a free agent deal with San Miguel Beer ahead of the season-opening Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup which tips off in the first week of November.
Teng and his agent Danny Espiritu confirmed the move on Wednesday with separate social media posts, both containing a photo of the former Converge mainstay doing a handshake with San Miguel Corporation sports director Alfrancis Chua.
Article continues after this advertisement“Thank you so much Boss Ramon (Ang) and Boss Alfrancis (Chua) for this new opportunity,” Teng said in an Instagram story.
The 29-year-old joins the Beermen a few days after tying the knot with his longtime girlfriend Jeanine Tsoi.
He will also suit up for the team where his father, Alvin Teng, played from 1986 to 1994.
Article continues after this advertisementSan Miguel will be Teng’s third team since the ex-La Salle star was selected by Alaska in the first round of the 2017 Rookie Draft.
He joined Converge after the latter purchased the Aces franchise in March 2022, but the FiberXers opted not to give him an extension after his contract expired last month.
At San Miguel, Teng hopes to make his way in the rotation of a stacked roster led by June Mar Fajardo and CJ Perez.
