Millet, Dural clinch drag racing titles
MANILA—Arvin Jay Millet and Rommel Dural topped separate divisions in the championship round of the Petron Northern Series-2011 National Drag Racing Championship recently at the Clark International Speedway.
Millet of Astrago Racing Works had 17 points to bag his lone title for the season, but the victory proved enough to earn a tie for the overall Expert crown with Lennel Diaz of Mohspeed.
Dural, meanwhile, dominated the National Expert class with 42 points as Millet settled for second with 34.
Ace lady driver Jeannette Go of JCT-Blanche Racing also scored an upset to tie Marky Baquiran of Kapshop for the overall Hotstreet title with identical 22 points.
Go clocked 16.076 to win by just a fraction of a second over Baquiran’s time of 16.408.
Richard Reyes of Kapshop picked up the overall Sportsman crown with 26 points as Ryan Lao of H3 Autoworks (16 points) and Van Owen Cruz of Cabspeed (15 points) rounded up the podium finishers.
But the national series honor went to Sherwin Esguerra of SE Racing with 42 points, followed by Reyes (28 points) and Akim Cleofe of Lowtoys (26 points).
