“I’m very very happy that we were able to go back here in Batangas after the pandemic. It’s just so nice to seal it with a win because it’s different when you win in your hometown,” she added.

The three-time PVL Most Valuable Player said she was extra motivated to play in front of her family and fellow Batangueños.

“It’s been a while since they watched the games because they have work. I’m just very glad that I was given a chance by our coaches to play in today’s game,” said Valdez in Filipino. “ My family always supports me and they support the team especially so very, very happy and extra power and energy (for me) to see them.”
