NCAA: EAC scores comeback win, Lyceum stops slide

MANILA, Philippines—Emilio Aguinaldo College climbed out of a deep hole to stun San Sebastian, 80-77, in the NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball tournament at San Juan Arena on Tuesday.

The Generals came back from 22 points down to hike their record to 6-4.

JP Maguliano led EAC’s rally with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds while Nat Cosejo and Ralph Robin scored 16 and 13, respectively.

San Sebastian fell to 3-7 despite 24 points from Alex Desoyo and a 12-point, 10-rebound effort by Tristan Felebrico.

Earlier, Lyceum snapped a three-game losing streak at the expense of Jose Rizal University, 99-96, in overtime. 

Six players scored in double-digits for the Pirates led by Vince Cunanan’s 20 points. Cunanan also dished out nine assists.

Enoch Valdez and Patrick Montaño added 14 points apiece while Shawn Umali and John Barba combined for 25 points as the Pirates climbed to 7-3.

Two Heavy Bombers (6-4) recorded a double-double with Joshua Guiab collecting 21 points and 10 rebounds and JL Delos Santos tallying 14 points and 11 rebounds while Agem Miranda added 19 in a losing effort.
