MANILA, Philippines—Two Filipinos were not denied glory and wins in the ONE Friday Fights 38 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand on Friday.

Fritz Biagtan showed that he belongs in ONE after a first round win via TKO over Deebak Bhardwaj.

At the 1:13 mark of the opening round, Biagtan successfully connected with a right knee to Bhardwaj’s liver that made him stumble.

The Filipino flyweight would then follow it up with a right hook that urged the official to call the match off.

Biagtan’s victory marked his second win in as many outings during his stint for ONE.

Then, Mark Abelardo defeated his respective challenger in the form of Georgy Shahruramazanov, also by way of TKO in the second period.

Unlike Biagtan, Abelardo was chasing his points in the second round after a subpar opener.

In the 4:43 mark of the second frame, Abelardo connected with a left hook which stunned Shahruramazanov down to the mat followed by a barrage of blows which ultimately ended the fight.

Friday’s win made it back-to-back wins for Abelardo after having defeated Taron Grigorian in ONE Friday Fights 15, a few months ago.
