Wide-open Puerto Princesa relay races

Tri SND Barracuda, the best triathlon team in the country, and Fit PH and Baguio Benguet Triathlon are the fancied crews shooting to win top honors in the Ironman 70.3 Puerto Princesa, which hosts the Asia Tri-Club and Relay Championship for the first time on Nov. 12 in Palawan.

A handsome cash prize of P500,000 will be up for grabs in the endurance event made up of a 1.9-kilometer swim, 90-km bike and 21.1-km run with some of the province’s scenic sites as backdrop.

Also signing up early are Gas Coaching, Las Vegas Tri Club, Heroes Hotel Adventure, Army Navy Southtri, Loolaba Tri Club, Les Sables Vendee, La Rochelle Tri and KOA Sports.

The IM 70.3 Puerto Princesa is part of the Global TriClub Championship Series held across five regions, including Panama, Oceanside, Marbella, Australia, Victoria, Virginia’s Blue Ridge, Steelhead, Maine and Wisconsin.
