UAAP: La Salle fends off Adamson to complete Final Four return
MANILA, Philippines — La Salle turned back Adamson, 69-57, to book its return to the Final Four and extend its winning streak to five games in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament on Wednesday evening at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Kevin Quiambao, the MVP frontrunner, sustained his fine play, leading the collective effort of the Green Archers with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists to help his team improve to 8-3 and become the third team to enter the semifinals this year, joining league leaders National University and University of the Philippines, who are tied at 9-2.

UAAP: UP ends Final Four drought, UST also makes cut in women’s basketball
MANILA, Philippines — University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas booked their tickets to the Final Four after separate blowout wins in the UAAP Season 86 women’s basketball tournament on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
UP finally broke through after a 15-year Final Four dry spell following a 70-55 romp of Far Eastern University, solidifying its spot in second place with an improved 9-2 record.

UAAP: NU far from satisfied after booking Final Four berth
MANILA, Philippines — National University earned its second straight Final Four appearance after beating skidding Far Eastern University, 68-57, in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament on Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Bulldogs used a second-half surge to dispatch the Tamaraws and join fellow league leader University of the Philippines in the semifinals with identical 9-2 records.
NU, however, is far from satisfied.

UAAP: Malick Diouf returns, propels UP past UE and into Final Four
MANILA, Philippines — Malick Diouf was hardly bothered by a wrist injury as he led University of the Philippines past University of the East, 79-72, and into the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball Final Four on Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The reigning UAAP Most Valuable Player, who sat out in their 88-79 loss to La Salle three days ago due to a sprained right wrist, returned with his right hand heavily taped but still dominated with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, 15 rebounds and five steals.
His last steal against Ethan Galang with only 14 ticks to go sealed the Fighting Maroons’ ninth win in 11 games.

MANILA, Philippines — Defending champion Ateneo rediscovered its winning ways after ousting the University of Santo Tomas, 67-59, to keep its Final Four hopes alive in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament on Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
But the Blue Eagles needed to weather a second-half fight by the Growling Tigers, who went on a 10-2 run sparked by a Kenji Duremdes three-point play to pull within six, 59-53, with 2:44 remaining.
