Lito Adiwang celebrates latest win in ONE Championship.

MANILA, Philippines—Instead of taking his sweet time relishing his most recent victory, Lito Adiwang has set his eyes on future competitions.

After defeating Jeremy Miado via unanimous decision in ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade, Adiwang expressed his interest in fighting Gustavo Balart.

“I’ve been asking for Balart. I really want our matchup and I want to test myself against him,” said the Soma Fight Club member at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok, on Saturday.

Adiwang also said a possible bout against Balart could set him up for a future clash with division champion Jarred Brooks.

“It’ll be good preparation for me, going to a possible Brooks fight. Balart is a wrestler, he has good ground game and I’ll be challenged to work on my wrestling skills,” explained the strawweight.

Balart, according to Adiwang, will be another rung on the ladder.

The Baguio native clarified that the main goal is still to compete for the strawweight’s top prize.

“That’s really my desire, to fight for the belt. This is my second version so I’ll give my best to reach that goal and become a champion.”

As it stands, Adiwang holds a professional record of 15 wins and five losses with no draws.
