PBA 3×3: MCFASolver emerges with breakthrough Leg 4 title
MANILA, Philippines—MCFASolver showed what a wild card can do, winning Leg 4 of the PBA 3×3 Season 3 Second Conference at Ayala Malls Manila Bay on Tuesday.
Against all odds—as the ninth seed, no less—the guest team from Pampanga defeated Meralco in a narrow 21-20 affair.
Article continues after this advertisementMeralco held a tight 20-19 lead in the dying moments when Joseph Sedurifa fouled Yutien Andrada to grant him two crucial free throws.
Andrada had his moment for the taking, sinking both freebies and claiming the P100,000 pesos cash prize for Tech Centrale.
“When I was taking the free throws, I just had to toughen myself up. I told myself, no pressure, I was just thinking that I’m confident for this,” said Andrada in Filipino.
Article continues after this advertisementLouie Vigil was MCFASolver’s main man in the finalè with 12 points while Brandon Ramirez chipped in six in the victory.
Sedurifa and Joseph Manday scored eight markers each for Meralco, which finished second with a P50,000 pesos consolation.
Pioneer, on the other hand, stunned the three-peat champion TNT in the battle for third, 21-14.
