MANILA, Philippines — Tots Carlos and Bernadeth Pons sparked Creamline’s come-from-behind 25-22, 23-25, 25-27, 25-19, 15-13 victory over Petro Gazz in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference.

But the hard-hitting pair of Carlos and Pons, who were fielded in for Michele Gumabao and Alyssa Valdez in the fourth, brought the ‘happy, happy’ and delivered in the clutch against the determined Angels to help their team stay unbeaten in five games.

MANILA, Philippines — Eya Laure offered Chery Tiggo’s hard-earned four-set win to teammate Imee Hernandez, who hurt her left knee, in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at Philsports Arena.

Hernandez injured her left knee after a bad fall from a spike attempt when the Crossovers trailed the Chameleons in the second set, 15-20. The young middle blocker refused to be stretchered out but she was carried out of the court and didn’t return.

MANILA, Philippines — Mylene Paat provided the spark from the bench and the much-needed leadership for Chery Tiggo to survive the gritty Nxled, 22-25, 31-29, 25-23, 28-26, for the joint second place in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at Philsports Arena.

After missing their first four games due to a foot injury, Paat showed flashes of her lethal form with 16 points including three blocks and encouraged her teammates to fight on amid losing Imee Hernandez midway through the second set due to a left knee injury from a bad fall.

“I shouted to play our hearts out in this fight. Through our hearts, we will win this game,” said Paat after helping the Crossover extend their winning streak to three.

MANILA, Philippines — Erika Santos continued to thrive as a starter dropping 17 points for PLDT’s fifth straight win, 29-27, 25-14, 25-18, that kept the Galeries Tower winless in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at Philsports Arena.

Santos played efficiently hitting 15-of-31 on top of two blocks and had 13 digs while Honey Royse Tubino delivered 14 points as the High Speed Hitters claim the solo second spot with a 5-1 record.

“There’s nothing new, I just stuck to our system and listened to coach. I’m competing against myself,” said Santos in Filipino.

MANILA, Philippines — F2 Logistics earned its first winning streak in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference after pouncing on the embattled Gerflor, 25-10, 25-16, 25-14, on Thursday at the Philsports Arena.

Ara Galang led the way for the Cargo Movers with 11 points including three blocks on top of 11 digs, and three excellent receptions. Ivy Lacsina and Aby Maraño chipped in 10 points each, while Jolina Dela Cruz added nine markers.

Gerflor team playing through low morale in PVL amid financial woes

MANILA, Philippines — Gerflor coach Sammy Acaylar admitted that his team is facing financial problems in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference.

Acaylar set the record straight regarding the status of the Defenders, who remained winless in six games, saying the team is facing internal problems with the management, which first came to light due to a viral Reddit post.

“As you already know, there is a problem. It has spread [online]. Maybe, it’s up to the management to answer that but as I’ve said we don’t want to get ahead of the management,” the Gerflor coach told reporters in Filipino after their 10-25, 16-25, 14-25 loss to F2 Logistics on Thursday at Philsports Arena.

MANILA, Philippines — The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is investigating the current situation concerning the Gerflor Defenders after a post went viral claiming that the members have yet to receive their salary in the ongoing second All-Filipino Conference.

The PVL on Thursday released a statement vowing to investigate the situation after it came to light that players of the Defenders are allegedly not receiving their salary from the team.

MANILA, Philippines — After recovering from an ACL injury, Aduke Ogunsanya vows to always stay ready for Choco Mucho whenever her number gets called in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference.

The fit-again middle blocker provided the spark off the bench, scoring all of her six points in the third set — the lone frame she played — in Choco Mucho’s  25-11, 25-20, 25-19 sweep of Nxled on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.

Ogunsanya may not be a starter for the Flying Titans, who have a deep middle blocker rotation bannered by Maddie Madayag along with Cherry Nunag, Bea De Leon, and Maika Ortiz, but she is made sure to deliver when needed.
