Kaya-Iloilo and Manila Digger dispute the title of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League when they square off in Saturday’s final at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The match is set at 7 p.m. with the winner emerging as the new champions of the women’s football league that made its return after a three-year absence due to the pandemic.

La Salle, which won the previous three editions, and UAAP champion Far Eastern University (FEU) look to secure a third place finish at 4 p.m.

Both clubs had to wait more than a month before they could square off for the championship.

Kaya had to overcome an early deficit to oust La Salle, 2-1, in the semis. Filipinas captain Hali Long, Cam Rodriguez, Inna Palacios and Shelah Cadag are expected to play prominent roles for coach Let Dimzon.

Manila Digger, on the other hand, will come into the contest as underdogs after needing a thrilling shootout to eliminate FEU in the other semis.

Ghanaian striker Candida Quarshie, who scored 10 goals during the eliminations, and Rocelle Lecera are among the players Manila Digger will lean on to foil Kaya’s title bid.

Quarshie’s compatriot Ayishatu Simpson was among the top goalkeepers of the competition, having produced three clean sheets for Manila Digger.
