MANILA, Philippines–NorthPort is still in negotiations with Robert Bolick for a potential return as early as the ongoing PBA Commissioner’s Cup, coach Bonnie Tan said.
Tan, however, was a bit tightlipped about the progress of the talks after Bolick suddenly cut short his Japanese stint with the Fukushima Firebonds due to the delicate situation surrounding his pregnant wife.
“I can’t answer what’s next for Robert Bolick, but there’s talks,” Tan said after NorthPort’s 108-103 win over Terrafirma Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Batang Pier mentor also opted not to disclose if the two parties are now in a position to discuss key details of the contract or if Bolick will eventually be dealt somewhere else once a deal is reached.
“I don’t know if they have reached any figures. That I could not answer,” said Tan, adding that NorthPort management is the one doing the talks with last season’s Mythical Second Team member.
Bolick played just one game for the B.League second division team before his release was granted by Fukushima.
The ace gunner and his wife Cassandra have been in the country since leaving the Firebonds last month.
“He’s just busy with his family so we’re still fixing it (negotiations),” Tan said.
