RICHARD Joson pooled a 305 to capture the gross individual crown while powering Team Royal Northwoods to a runner-finish in the fifth round of the World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship at the Tiara Melaka Golf and Country Club in Malaysia recently.
Joson teamed up with Gov. Tomas Joson III, Dennis Gonzales and Nicholas Del Carmen as they assembled a four-round aggregate of 955 to finish second to host Malaysia, which scored a 931.
The Royal Northwoods bets opened their bid with a 252 then followed it up with rounds of 231, 237 and 235 to clinch the runner-up honors in the event serving as the penultimate leg of the six-stage preliminary rounds. The grand finals will be in November at the Royal Perak Golf Club.
Richard Joson capped his impressive performance by bagging the longest drive honors (266 yards) on No. 7.
