Kyt Jimenez, King Caralipio activated by PBA teams after MPBL exits

MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel’s first game in the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup could feature the debut of Kyt Jimenez.

Despite the MPBL still ongoing, Jimenez’s team Gen San was eliminated by the Batangas Embassy Chill in the league’s South Division which led the team to grant the 5-foot-11 guard’s release.

His release from the team was followed up by an eventual signing from the Beermen, making him available to play in San Miguel’s season opener against NLEX at Ynares Center, Antipolo, on Wednesday.

Jimenez was drafted 76th overall by the Beermen in the 2023 PBA Draft.

He averaged 6.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals for Gen San.

Another PBA draft pick that would see action in the professional league is King Caralipio, who also had his MPBL run halted via elimination.

Caralipio, who was chosen by Converge with the 42nd overall pick, will finally see action for the FiberXers after Zamboanga was eliminated by Bacoor.

The NCAA Season 98 Finals MVP averaged 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds for Family’s Brand Sardines during his run in the MPBL.
