PVL: Petro Gazz’s Ranya Musa suffers ACL tear
CAGAYAN DE ORO — Petro Gazz middle blocker Ranya Musa suffered a complete ACL tear in her right knee, ruling out for the remainder of the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference.
The Angels, who absorbed their fourth straight loss to Choco Mucho, 25-18, 23-25, 15-25, 16-25, shed light on why Musa sat out on Thursday at FilOil EcoOil Centre.

“We regret to inform the public that, after an MRI scan and consultation with doctors, it has been confirmed that our middle blocker, Ranya Musa, sustained a complete anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in her right knee during our Angels’ November 11 game against the Cignal HD Spikers,” the team said in a statement.
The middle blocker out of College of Saint Benilde was instrumental in Petro Gazz’s 4-0 start in the tournament only to for the Angels to lose their last four games, reeling to sixth place tied with F2 Logistics.

“The team and the management will provide our full support as she prepares for the season-ending procedure, ensuring that she receives the utmost medical attention needed for a full recovery from this setback,” the team said.

Musa was part of the Angels’ first Reinforced Conference championship run in 2019. She played for Gerflor last Invitationals before coming home to Petro Gazz in the season-closing tournament.
