MANILA, Philippines — Choco Mucho recovered from a first-set loss and eliminated F2 Logistics from the semifinal race, 19-25, 25-8, 25-17, 25-19, for its seventh straight victory in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.

After a lethargic opening frame, Sisi Rondina and the Flying Titans caught fire in the second set. They scored 14 of the last 15 points, where they dominated the Cargo Movers by 17 points to equalize the match to one-set apiece.

MANILA, Philippines — Eya Laure drilled the game-winning ace to complete Chery Tiggo’s come-from-behind 17-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 16-14 victory over Cignal and extend their winning streak to five games in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.

After the Crossovers blew a 13-11 lead as Ces Molina put the HD Spikers on the verge of victory, 14-13, Laure came to the rescue and forced a deuce before Cza Carandang’s go-ahead block on Molina.

MANILA, Philippines — While the Akari Chargers were waiting for their flight to Cagayan De Oro on Friday morning for their crucial Premier Volleyball League (PVL) on Tour game, Faith Nisperos brought out her laptop to finish a presentation for one of her school projects.

“I am just making my presentation at the airport because of course. we’re nearing finals week. So I have to take every opportunity that I can do my school works while we’re out of town,” Nisperos told Inquirer Sports.

MANILA, Philippines — Displaying mental toughness, Petro Gazz rediscovered its winning ways fending off also-ran but gritty Farm Fresh, 25-22, 19-25, 25-16, 26-24, to keep its semifinal hopes alive in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.

After a 4-0 start in the tournament, the Angels went downhill with four consecutive losses. Coach Timmy Sto. Tomas challenged his wards to use those setbacks as motivation especially since they are in a must-win situation in their remaining games.

MANILA, Philippines — The Gerflor Defenders’ financial problem is over after a well-known sportsman, who refused to be named, shouldered their delayed salaries and expressed his desire to adopt the team, according to coach Gerflor coach Sammy Acaylar.

Acaylar, who was watching the Petro Gazz-Farm Fresh match at Philsports Arena, revealed the development after the financial woes hampered his team in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference.

CAGAYAN DE ORO — The Gerflor Defenders may have remained winless in eight games after getting swept by the Akari Chargers but coach Sammy Acaylar finally got recognition from his hometown.

Calling shots for a volleyball team in the City of Golden Friendship is no longer new for Acaylar as it is the place where he grew up before becoming one of the brightest minds in Philippine volleyball. But only a few recognize him as a homegrown coach.

CAGAYAN DE ORO — Wherever the Creamline Cool Smashers go, their fans follow.

The mountain-top venue in the City of Golden Friendship seemed like the home court of the Cool Smashers with 9,682 spectators giving them an electric atmosphere, which boosted them to stay unbeaten in seven games in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) second All-Filipino Conference.

The Cagayanon fans showered the crowd-favorite Creamline with deafening cheers as superstars Alyssa Valdez and Jema Galanza joined hands to sweep PLDT, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19, on Saturday at Aquilino Q. Pimentel International Convention Center.
