Tots Carlos is PVL Finals MVP in latest Creamline title win
MANILA, Philippines — Tots Carlos won her first Finals Most Valuable Player award after leading Creamline to a “three-peat” in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.
Carlos, a three-time Conference MVP winner, poured in 26 points in Creamline’s title-clinching 22-25, 25-20, 29-27, 24-26, 15-12 victory over sister team Choco Mucho in Finals Game 2 on Saturday in front of a record 24,459 crowd at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Article continues after this advertisementThe star wing spiker scored all her points from her 77 attack attempts, becoming the fourth Cool Smasher to win the Finals MVP and joining four-time winner Jia De Guzman and Alyssa Valdez and Ced Domingo.
The University of the Philippines product scored 16 points in their 25-23, 19-25, 26-24, 25-22 victory in Game 1 on Thursday at Mall of Asia Arena.
“Sobrang saya namin kasi ayun nga ang dami naming pinagdaanan. Sabi ko nga kanina, muhkang madali pero yung every training, every game, pag mindset namin siyempre iba eh so sobrang saya namin na nanalo kami this (conference), na-sweep namin and sobrang galing lang talaga ni coach Sherwin [Meneses],” said Carlos after completing a 15-game sweep.
Article continues after this advertisementCarlos won her fourth championship with Creamline since joining the club in the PVL bubble two years ago, crediting their success to coach Sherwin Meneses.
“Grabe yung pasensya (ni coach), grabe yung mga tinuturo niya, yung sistema, along with yung mga kasama niyang coaches sobrang grateful namin sa kanila amd especially siyempre Rebisco management, maraming maraming salamat po,” she said.
Creamline earned its third straight All-Filipino crown and seventh overall championship in the league.
